Esteemed Norwegian heavy metal veterans, Enslaved, have recently announced the re-signing to their current label Nuclear Blast just this past week. Enslaved has been with the label for nearly a decade and to celebrate this momentous occasion they have released a new music video for the bonus cut off their latest studio album, 2017’s E, titled “What Else Is There.”
According to a press release, the latest musical offering from Enslaved the guys “…present a stunning new music video filled with atmospheric imagery for their interpretation of ‘What Else Is There’ by Norwegian electro-pop band RÖYSKOPP. The song is featured as a bonus track on the digital version of their latest album, E.” The music video for “What Else Is There” depicts stark black and white kaleidoscopic images of what appears to be in the backdrop of a desert plains landscape. The video’s story is told through the lyrics of the song, the video shows a woman roaming around during the whole duration of the music video.
Enslaved’s current touring lineup includes founding members Grutle Kjellson (lead vocals/bass) and Ivar Bjørnson (lead and rhythm guitar/backing vocals/keyboards), respectively, as well as guitarist Arve Isdal, Håkon Vinje (clean vocals/keyboards) and Iver Sandøy (drums). As previously stated in a press release, Enslaved founding member Bjornson voiced his enthusiasm about re-signing to Nuclear Blast saying:
“It is with great pleasure we re-sign our record deal with Nuclear Blast worldwide! We have been working together for more or less a decade, and it has been an individed positive experience. They have both the heart to grasp our musical visions, and the business-muscles to spread them out into the world. When you add personal friendships with the wonderful people in America, U.K. and Germany it is simply an ideal situation for us to be in. Onwards, forwards and in all directions!”
