Brian Joseph Burton, aka Danger Mouse, has been preforming writing and producing music since before 1999. This talented record maker has worked with some of the most iconic artists in the game, including Gorilliaz, Jay-Z and Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse). His claim to fame started to rise in early 2004 when he released The Grey Album. Danger Mouse is not a stranger to tragedy happening in life, but nothing could have prepared him for Mark Linkous’ death.
Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse) committed suicide before Danger Mouse and he could release the song “Ninjarous.” It was recorded before Linkous committed suicide but wasn’t included in the album Dark Night of the Soul that Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse recorded together. The song also includes rapping by MF Doom and Patrick Carney on drums.
“Ninjarous” is a low-fi song with flare. The aesthetically pleasing melody complements the hard style rap flowing through the song. There is clearly pain emerging out of the song that makes the listener think about the lyrics from a third person point of view.

Meanwhile this year has been extremely busy for Danger Mouse who is also in the band Broken Bells, who just recently released the song “Good Luck” in September. Burton and Mercer have also recently been realeasing their own individual projects. “Good Luck”, is the third single dropped from the band since 2014 album release of After the Disco. Admirers have been commenting on the song with enthusiasm for the band to release a third album. There has been no comment from the band on whether there will be a third album. Either way fans are grateful for the release of “Good Luck”. This new song generates a vibration within the soul that instills a sense of empowerment. The song could be taken as a stab at political figures starting.
