The Treefort Music Festival has announced the 2020 edition of its lineup featuring the Chromatics, Tennis and Japanese Breakfast, who will perform across multiple venues in downtown Boise, Idaho from March 25-29th. This musical event will host over 400 bands, in addition to various film screenings, art exhibitions, comedy performances and yoga sessions.
Other performers announced for this first wave lineup include Prefuse 73, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Peter Bjorn and John, Sinkane, AJJ, Nite Jewel, Magic Sword, Andrea Gibson, Rituals of Mine, The Seshen, Chong the Nomad and Great Grandpa. Five-day general admission passes are currently on sale for $210 and ZipLine tickets are on sale for $385.
Last year’s lineup featured George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Pussy Riot, Rapsody Andrew W.K. and Zola Jesus among many other prominent performers. This year’s lineup featured appearances from Liz Phair, Dan Deacon and Angélique Kidjo’s Remain in Light, who were among 432 musical acts who were booked for the festival this year.
Chromatics recently surprise released their first first album in seven years entitled Closer to Grey. This latest project was advertised as their seventh studio album, although their sixth studio album has not been released yet. A planned album entitled Dear Tommy was scrapped after the band’s main multi-instrumentalist and producer Johnny Jewel allegedly destroyed all physical copies of that album after near-death experience in 2015. “Christmas day 2015, Johnny almost died in Haiwaii. When he came back home to California he destroyed all copies of Tommy. 15k CDs and 10k vinyl in the Italians warehouse in Glendale, all gone,” Alex Riviera, the band’s former manager explained.
