Tool Announce Expanded Book Edition of Fear Inoculum for December 2019 Release

Tool has been riding a massive wave of commercial success with the release of their latest studio album Fear Inoculum, their first album in 13 years. In addition to landing on the number one spot on the Billboard 200, physical copies of the project have apparently run out, however an expanded book edition of the project will be released on December 13th.

This expanded edition will contain 5 x 3D lenticular cards with exclusive graphics, an expanded 56 page booklet with additional never-before-seen art, a download of the groundbreaking immersive visual experience (video), “Recusant Ad Infinitum,” and a CD. Pre-orders for this new edition are available here.

The band recently performed “Merkaba,” for the first time in 17 years during a concert at the Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The track does not have any studio version, and was originally featured as a live recording as part of Salival, a live album released back in 2000.

Fear Inoculum pushed the band to its limits, with most of the songs on the album reaching over the 10 minute mark, and four tracks being entirely instrumental.

“Overall, Fear Inoculum makes it seem as if 13 years did not pass and Tool just picked up right from their last release. The prog-metal band continues to defy boundaries and deliver engaging songs that, despite their length, keep people hooked until the last note,” Erin Winnans explained in review for mxdwn. “Ultimately, one listen is not enough and fans will find themselves hitting repeat. Each listen-through gives people more insight and with so much going on in the album, as well as individual songs, the album deserves multiple listens.”
