Peter Doherty was reportedly arrested this past Sunday in Paris, France. It is The Libertines frontman’s second arrest within 48 hours. According to Brooklyn Vegan, Doherty was first arrested early Friday morning after allegedly buying cocaine. He then opted to pay daily 50-euro fines for 100 days as a consequence for getting caught with drugs. The judge has yet to sign off.
He was then arrested again Sunday due to a drunken brawl that occurred Saturday night. Doherty’s lawyer, Arash Derambarsh said Doherty “went home then went out again to have a drink” shortly after his release on Saturday from his previous arrest. “But because of the detox treatment he has been following for a month he cannot hold his drink, ” Derambarsh continued to say. Doherty was then charged for an assault by the 19-year old male that Doherty allegedly got in to a fight with.
The Libertines are gearing up for a European tour slated to begin November 17th but it has been noted that it will not affect the band’s touring schedule. Doherty also released a new self-titled album with his band The Puta Madres earlier this year.
