Earl Sweatshirt Performs Unreleased Tracks at Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles

Tyler, The Creator’s LA-based music festival Camp Flog Gnaw was full of surprises. Some of the highlights were: Drake got booed while on stage, YG performed “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump),” featuring Stormy Daniels and Earl Sweatshirt’s new material.

As Tyler’s earlier comrade, Sweatshirt contributed to the event with his first performance since the release of his new EP, FEET OF CLAW. After suffering several personal losses, the seven-tracks album showcases an apparent delivery of Sweatshirt’s apprehension. It was a pretty cool experience for many fans that they can listen to the new Sweatshirt songs on Camp Flog Gnaw’s stage.

Sweatshirt’s set bridged YG’s set and Drake’s set. After performing several new EP tracks, Sweatshirt made an earnest commitment in the one-minute-and-half unreleased track when he was closing out smaller stage. He gave quick eye-contact to the DJ and signaled the start. The beats dropped heavily and immediately invited a round of cheering from the crowds. Dressed in a black hoodie and covered himself in the hoodie hat, Sweatshirt rapped over the turbid and gloomy beats in his own zone, like crumbling a tower in his own world. In his brief act, a string of arcane and dark messages hailed down one after another. He rapped over the beat, without breaks, his words seemingly spreading like spilled paint on a canvas. Like the way he announced the release of the new album just 12 hours ahead, the arrival of this unreleased track is filled with Sweatshirt’s charisma, which sounds very raw and visceral.
