Tyler the Creator’s eighth year of Camp Flog Gnaw took place this weekend at none other than Dodger Stadium, in Southern California. Fans bought tickets to see two days worth of extra ordinary talented artists like Beyonce’s sister Solange, Juice WRLD, DaBaby, Earl Sweatshirt and FKA Twigs. Rapper YG also brought out adult film actress Stormy Daniels to dance and join him on the Song “FDT,” also known as Fuck Donald Trump for hook and chorus. Singers and Rappers took the stage one by one and wowed the audience with high energy, and until Drake hit the stage.
The mystery artiest spot was thought to be filled by Frank Ocean. But instead it was Drake who came out and the audience had an antipathetic reaction. He was booed wildly without lament. He then reacted by cutting his set short. The main reason why the audience was having a negative reaction was due to the rumor of Frank Ocean coming to play, and Drake is not Frank Ocean.
Tyler the Creator went off on fans on Twitter saying, “I THOUGHT BRINGING ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST ON THE FUCKING PLANET TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE! BUT FLIPSIDE, A LIL TONE DEAF KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DREW. SOME CREATED A NARRATIVE IN THEIR HEAD AND ACTED OUT LIKE ASSHOLES WHEN IT DIDN’T COME TRUE AND I DON’T FUCK WITH THAT.” Tyler was and still is embarrassed that the audience was disrespectful to Drake during his set.
Sometimes expectations don’t line up with reality. But when it comes to fan’s, who pay the big bucks to come to an event, it would seem logical to take a poll and see what kind of artiest they would like to see. The reality of the situation is that Drake was a great choice, as far as Tyler the Creator’s preference goes, but at the end of the day you have to make the fans happy.
THIS NIGGA DID FEEL NO WAYS! SONG IS BEAUTIFUL. ALSO, MOSTLY EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME, THOSE SHITS IN THE FRONT AREA WERE THE ONES BEING MAD RUDE, WHICH, I CAN SEE WHY, BUT, NAH, FUCK THAT, YALL REPRESENTED ME AND FLOG TO MY GUEST AND MADE US LOOK SOOO ENTITLED AND TRASH
