The new track, “Shibuya” by the Free Nationals and Syd starts out sultry and smooth, greeting you with lyrics about the ease of Saturday and how one can let go and get in the groove of things. Because on Saturday you can just really be yourself and let go entirely. Syd’s vocals remind you that you don’t have to work tomorrow so drink, relax and unwind. Her vocals really provide the smoothness on this track, while instrumentals in the background highlight and set you in the mood.
The Free Nationals are best known for being Anderson .Paak’s live band, they have toured the world meeting countless artists who inspire them. The new album, The Free Nationals is a trend setter with multi-faceted artists who lend a hand in providing light and smooth tracks. In the track, “Time” vocals are gentle with talents, Kali Uchis and Mac Miller coming through on the track. Lyrics like, “I’ve got to take some time to grow. But I don’t want to let you go.” In the track, “Eternal Light” which showcases artist, Chronixx the song sets a sweet tempo against his vocals which make you want to lean back and relax. Lyrics blend well against the beat which flows throughout.
Free Nationals means The first people of America, Indigenous to the land before Columbus came.
