The annual ArcTanGent festival has announced its 2020 lineup, featuring a headline appearance from Opeth, and further appearances from Perturbator, Rolo Tomassi, TesseracT, Ihsan and Amenra. This festival is scheduled to take place from August 20th to August 22nd at the Fernhill Farm in Somerset, England.
TesseracT and Amenra will both host UK exclusive sets at the festival, while Rolo Tomassi will be hosting two-special full album sets which include performances of Grievances and their 2018 release Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It. In addition, OHHMS will also host two special sets, along with a special film set entitled Subjects.
Opeth will be the Friday main stage headliner, while This Will Destroy You will be the Saturday Yokhai Stage headliner, and GosT will be the Friday PX3 Stage Headliner.
“We’re excited to play the ArcTanGent festival in Bristol on August 21, 2020,” enthused Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt. “Been to Bristol a few times and it’s always a pleasure. It’ll be one of the last festivals we play that summer, so we wanna ‘go out with a bang’ and need your help and participation to do so.”
Opeth released their most recent studio album In Cauda Venenum earlier this year, which was supported by the single “Heart In Hand.”The progressive metal band has been identified by the festival organizers as being one of their major influences for organizing the festival.
Perturbator released their album New Model back in 2017. “New Model is a true gem, not only for fans of dark synthwave, but for those who are new to the genre as well. Perturbator’s love for synths and his skill at using them truly shines on this project,” mxdwn reviewer Will Burton explained.
