One Rage in and one Rage out. After three years, Prophets of Rage have announced, on B-Real’s social media platform Instagram, that they will no longer be playing together. Just days before the announcement of the disbandment of Prophets, Rage Against the Machine announced that they will be playing shows in Spring of 2020. The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise because the Prophets was built mostly of members of RATM. RATM’s 2020 show list includes cities such as Indio, California and many more.
Morello told Billboard music that, “The goal of Prophets of Rage was ‘a simple one: The music has to be devastating.'” Prophets of Rage, comprised of the band members of RATM without Zack De La Rocha and with Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill as the vocalists/MCs, tackled social and political topics throughout their bout as band. Their most recent release was a song tackling gun-violence in the song and music video “Pop Goes the Weapon”.
