Nick Reinhart, guitarist, and singer of Tera Melos and contributor to Death Grips and Portugal. The Man has a new band, Disheveled Cuss, which lives somewhere in-between early Weezer and Teenage Fanclub with a heavy ’90s indie rock influence. Reinhart says, “Playing music like this is satisfying in a very different way than what I’m used to. There’s no tearing open sonic portals like Tera Melos or primal aggression like Death Grips or stream of consciousness shredding like improvising in a jazz quartet- it’s a rock band playing “normal” songs and in many ways, that’s the least normal thing I’ve done.”
The band will be joining San Diego indie rock band Pinback on their upcoming November tour kicking off at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown before making a stop at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on November 9 then heading up to San Francisco for a show at Slim’s on November 10 and Harlow’s in Sacramento on November 11. The tour will then head north to Oregon, Washington, Idaho then down to Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona before heading back to California towards the end of November. Rob Crow of Pinback will be picking up bass duties for Disheveled Cuss for the duration of the tour.
Reinhart has a strong music background with four Tera Melos LPs. He just wrapped up playing guitar in Best Coast as part of the house band of Fred Savage’s new TV show. His new band Disheveled Cuss shows his display of versatility. More info on Disheveled Cuss’ debut LP via Sargent House will be available in 2020.
In August 2017, Tera Melos the Sacramento band released Trash Generator. The band is known for mixing ambient and electronic sounds and experiments with contrasting dynamics, sparse vocals, unique song structure, two-handed guitar tapping and effect pedals and samplers. Tera Melos consists of lead vocalist Nick Reinhart, bassist Nathan Latona, and drummer John Clardy.
