At a recent concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, Morrisey had some great yet interesting pieces of merchandise for sale. According to Stereogum, his merch stand included $300 copies of other artists’ albums with his autograph. The albums included Iggy & the Stooges’ Raw Power, Lou Reed’s Transformer, David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane, and Patti Smith’s Horses. All of them included Morrissey’s signature and some including “LOVES ______” (artist’s name). In addition, $200 copies of some of his albums were also up for grabs, including the recent California Son and the compilation The Best Of Morrissey.
A shirt that said, “Fuck The Guardian” was also selling at the stand, which is in reference to his suggestion of the British Press planted two protesters at his recent show at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. One protester was shown waving a sign that stated “Bigmouth Indeed,” and an anti-For Britain poster. Morrisey then refused to continue his set unless they left his show which they did.“Get out! Get out! Get out! We don’t need you!” See pictures of the merchandise below.
The tour, which was in support of California Son, is set to conclude tonight in Houston, TX. Interpol opened on select dates of the tour, including the Hollywood Bowl stop.
I think the original post got deleted but here’s the picture. The absolute hubris of charging $300 for a Bowie record signed by Morrissey is breathtaking. pic.twitter.com/bruSpDRSFY
