Australian based psychedelic music project, Tame Impala, has announced their follow up album to their Grammy nominated, Currents. Tame Impala is led by multi-instrumentalist, Kevin Parker, who writes and performs all the music created by the band. When touring he recruits the help of fellow Australian psychedelic rock group Pond. Which include Jay Watson (synthesizer, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals), and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals) as well as Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesiser).

Since releasing Currents Kevin Parker has stayed plenty busy, collaborating with a number of big name artists. Some of the artists Parker has collaborated with include Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson (for Gaga’s single “Perfect Illusion”), Theophilus London, Kanye West, Travis Scott, and house music DJ ZHU. He even has projects with Kendrick Lamar and SZA that have since been scrapped. Earlier this year Tame Impala released their first single since their 2015 album Currents made them one of the biggest rock bands in the world, they also performed on Saturday Night Live and headlined Coachella for the first time in their career.

Slow Rush is set to release sometime in 2020. Fans started to suspect that new Tame Impala music was on the way when the band posted a mysterious teaser video to their website earlier in the week, and their suspicions were later confirmed last night when Tame Impala posted a longer teaser video revealing the album artwork and release year. This will be the follow up album to the critically acclaimed project, Currents. Much like the album’s predecessor, it won the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Award
(ARIA) for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. If Slow Rush is anything like Tame Impala’s previous albums then fans can expect another hit record.
