Australian rock band Tame Impala have uploaded mysterious new video on their official website, which appears as the only thing available on the band’s homepage. This visual begins with a shot of some recording equipment, before showing a loop of the band’s frontman Kevin Parker in a recording studio.
This cryptic teaser comes within a year of the band’s numerous festival appearances world wide, which includes major headline sets at festivals such as Coachella, Shaky Knees and Lollapalooza. The band have also joined A$AP Rocky on stage during performance of the songs “Sundress,” and “LSD” at Coachella, and a performance of both of those songs at the Real Street Festival in Anaheim, California, which marked the rapper’s return to the stage after his return from a Swedish jail.
Back in March the band debuted a new track entitled “Patience,” which was the band’s first single in four years, since the release of their album Currents in 2015. Soon after the band released “Borderline,” which they premiered during a performance on SNL.
The band’s frontman hinted at possibly releasing an album this summer back in 2018, however the plans did not go through. “I would very much hope so [to release a new Tame Impala record in summer 2019], I’d be very disappointed if we didn’t have something out by then,” he said before continuing on. “I mean, I love playing the songs live, I love playing ‘Currents’ songs, I love playing ‘Lonerism’ songs and everything, but I think I’m ready to play some other songs live. All the instinctual things are there.”
