Swedish electronic band Little Dragon have released a playful and funky new single entitled “Tongue Kissing,” which coincides with the announcement of the band’s upcoming 2020 North American and European tour. The band’s first stop will be in their home nation of Stockholm, Sweden, on March 9th, while their concluding performance will take place in San Diego, California on May 12th.
“The song is very much about taking brave steps,” explains the band in a press release. “Facing your own demons and tongue kissing with life in a way, not holding back but going all in with all that it entails, every moment in your face.”
The track’s takes inspiration with many R&B, neo-soul and funk elements, such as upbeat synths, a bouncy bassline, and rhythmic drums. Yukimi Nagano has a soulful vocal performance, which helps set the song’s energy, which is both fun, yet also sensual.
The band dropped their Lover Chanting EP, toward the end of last year, which featured three new songs, an remix of the project’s self-titled song.
The band described the EP as:
“The force of love. Not only between two people but the force of love in this universe as the ultimate ecstasy. Whether that is while you’re dancing at a disco forgetting where you are or just staring at the moon on a clear night, it can be anything. A swim in the ocean, a glance at a stranger–it’s a personal individual thing. Call it what you want but we have all felt it. So, embrace the great mystery of everything that your brain can’t grasp and lose track in the most beautiful sense.”
