Heavy metal performer Devin Townsend has announced his first set of Winter 2020 North American tour dates, which will begin in Toronto, Canada on February 27th and finish in San Francisco, California on March 25th. Townsend was originally unaware of this announcement, however he took to social media to clarify some aspects of the tour.
Realized this was announced already… greetings from the passport office 🙂 I’ll write up on it later… I guess this is the first of several North American runs, so hope it gets near you at some point 🙂 https://t.co/9DEdaQFg1K

This will be the first of two anticipated volumes of tours, which Townsend hinted are for 2020. The performer has stated that he will leave room for each performer to improvise, making each show unique, however during the close of these tours Townsend intends on performing his recent studio album Empath, in full.
Sorry, there was some disconnect in terms of the tour announcement and I had no idea it was today :/ anyways: yay! Volume one of the Empath tour is coming to North America. This is the first of several tours so hopefully we can t near your area (bookings permitted)

The touring band will feature the same line-up of members from Townsend’s European tour, which includes: drummer Morgan Ã…gren of Kaipa, guitarist Mike Keneally of Dethklok, ambient guitarist Markus Reuter of Stick Men, Stick Men, keyboardist Diego Tejeida of Haken, singer and guitarist Ché Aimee Dorval of Casuatlies of Cool and bassist Nathan Navarro, as well as a three person choir comprised of Samantha and Anne Preis, and Arabella Packford.
This is the same band that starts in Europe in a few weeks… it’s a big undertaking so I hope you can make it 🙂 a couple of cities were not able to be played on this run as a result of overlaps with certain members, but it’s on!
