Los Angeles electronic duo Classixx have dropped a new French house inspired single entitled “Love Me No More,” which serves as a tribute to former French producer Philippe Zdar, who was one half of the duo Cassius. Zdar passed away earlier this year at the age of 52, however the acclaimed producer worked with many artists including Kanye West, Daft Punk, the Beastie Boys, Pharrell Williams and the band Phoenix.
“Love Me No More,” features very upbeat synths, with some disco progressions and influences, that are complimented by jazzy synth and basslines, backed by traditional house hi-hats. The track utilizes souldful sample, which further driver the French house driven sound of the new dance floor ready song.
“‘Love Me No More’ is our first proper release in a while. 2019 has been a dynamic year for both of us personally and this song has really carried us in many ways,” the band explained in a press release. “If it provides anyone else with even a brief moment of escapism or happiness, it will mean so much!”
The duo’s most recent single “Possessive,” debuted back in 2017, and featured a funky sound, to mark the end of the summer theme intended for the track. “For the final days of summer, we’re giving out a new track to extend the pool party. We made this for fun with some help from our friend Vaughn Oliver. It’s called ‘Possessive,'” the band explained.
That same year the band filed a lawsuit against retailer H&M for copyright infringement, regarding the use of their songs in stores.
