A collab between DC punk legend Sharon Cheslow, Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker, Bratmobile’s Molly Neuman, and Julia Holter could possibly happen in the near future. A Gofund me campaign was launched recently for Cheslow, as sshe is battling with “severe health challenges due to acute PTSD,” with medical bills, according to Brooklyn Vegan. Tucker, Holter, and Cheslow are promising to release collaborative song if they are able to reach their goal of $20,000. As of now, they have raised around $11,000. Cheslow is a former member of the short-lived DC punk band Chalk Circle. The band was the first all-female band to emerge from D.C.’s punk scene and got notoriety from their Reflection LP in 2011. It includes twelve-songs of Chalk Circle’s early 1980s studio material and live recordings. Since Chalk Circle, she was apart of Bloody Mannequin Orchestra alongside Colin Sears, who she also co-published her first fanzine called Cheslow’s first fanzine was If This Goes On from 1982-83.’ She was also apart of Suture with Kathleen Hanna and Red Eye with Tim Green of Nation of Ulysses.
