Lollapalooza Chile will take place at O’Higgins Park on March 27-29, 2020 in Santiago, Chile. Performances by Travis Scott, Guns N’ Roses, Lana Del Rey, The Strokes, Gwen Stefani, Vampire Weekend, Cage The Elephant, James Blake, The Lumineers, Kacey Musgraves, Charli XCX and so many others are set to rock the show.
In fact, this is just one of the handful of South American Lollapaloozas shows setting to take place in 2020, along with a US Show scheduled at Chicago’s Grant Park on July 30-August 2, 2020. The South American shows include locations like, Argentina, Brasil, and Chile. All three shows will be headlined by Guns N’ Roses, Travis Scott, The Strokes, Lana Del Rey, Martin Garrix, and Gwen Stefani, and many more.
The annual Lollapalooza Chile festival launched in April 2011 in Santiago’s O’Higgins Park and has featured various rock, metal, punk and hip-hop bands from both Chile and abroad. It was the first edition of Lollapalooza to take place outside of the United States and was followed by the launch of Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo in 2012. The show is managed by Chilean production company Lotus Productions in partnership with Lollapalooza founder and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. The show has drawn crowds of more than 100,000 in 2011 and 115,000 in 2012.
The 2019 show featured over 8 stages and major artists like Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, Lenny Kravitz, Post Malone, Sam Smith and Tiesto, Macklemore, Steve Aoki, Portugal. the Man, Interpol, Odesza, Greta Van Fleet, Ziggy Marley and many others. In past Lollapalooza Chile shows, artists like Soundgarden, Eminem, Cypress Hill, The Killers, Jane’s Addiction, Kanye West, Deftones, Fatboy Slim, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Flaming Lips, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Björk, MGMT, Black Keys, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, Keane, Deadmau5, A Perfect Circle, Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, and many others graced the stage in Chile.
The festival has also provided an important platform for Chilean bands like Chico Trujillo, Anita Tijoux, Los Bunkers, Javiera Mena, Francisca Valenzuela, Joe Vasconcellos, Gepe, Fernando Milagros, Juana Fe and Los Jaivas. The Chilean contingent of the 2013 lineup included Banda Conmoción, Gepe, De Saloon and Chancho en Piedra. Lollapalooza Chile has also provided a springboard for Chilean artists such as Los Bunkers, Chico Trujillo and Anita Tijoux to play the original Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.
