Bishop Briggs is back at it again with soul and song. Her new album titled “Champion” is due to be released in November of this year. The new album hails songs that divulge her recent personal breakup.
She stated in on her Instagram post, “I truly feel like this is the most vulnerable music I’ve ever written. I decided to not hide behind my own metaphors and poetry and however difficult it was to write, I told the truth,” she explained. “I wrote this in the midst of a breakup and I truly felt so alone. In hindsight, I think I wrote the album that I needed to hear at that time. So, my hope is that it does the same for you. I hope this album can be the hand that wipes the tears from your cheeks, the shiver down your spine when you feel like yourself again, and the lightness in your spirit when you have closure…even if its just for a fleeting moment. Thank you for allowing me to be so vulnerable and I can’t wait for this to be in the world.”
The enlightenment Briggs seems to have found in sharing the truth with her fans is very freeing for her. During her time creating “Champion,” Briggs faced challenges that she thought she would never overcome. Briggs seems to have proven to herself, and to her fans that anything is possible and the truth can set you free.
This album has a few songs that are available now such as Jekyll & Hide, Tattooed On My Heart, and Champion. These three songs off the new album hold depth and weight to them, with meaningful lyrics and beautiful vocals. These catchy tunes are surely hyping up the album to be everything audiences have ever wanted.
