Record Store Day (RSD) Black Friday is set to launch on November 29th, and will host a plethora of new releases including new tracks from The Regrettes, unreleased material from Alex Chilton, the long-awaited Tenacious D and Jack White collaboration, and a vinyl re-release of Willie Nelson’s weed oriented songs.
The Regrettes will be dropping the single “Holiday-ish (feat. Dylan Minnette),” as a 7-inch record via Warner Records. This release will see 2000 prints hit the store on RSD and will feature a demo of the recording as its B-Side.
A new special Alex Chilton compilation entitled My Rival will feature four previously unreleased tracks entitled “Windows Hotel,” “My Rival,” “She Might Look My Way” and “She Might Look My Way” featuring Chris Bell. My Rival was engineered by Bell, and will be released via Omnivore Records. This RSD First release will also have 1500 presses, and feature new liner notes from Rich Tupica and Elizabeth Hoehn (aka Lesa Aldridge).
Nelson will be re-releasing the tracks “Sometimes Even I Can Get Too High” and “It’s All Going To Pot” featuring Merle Haggard as a special 7-inch vinyl via Legacy Records. These cannabis inspired tracks will have 4000 presses released, and were originally featured on Ride Me Back Home Nelson’s latest record and Django and Jimmie, Nelson and Haggard’s 2015 album.
Other highly anticipated released include the New Pornographer’s 3 track EP Fade Baby Fade, which will have a limited 2450 presses hit the stores. Rodrigo y Gabriela awill also have a three-track EP entitled Mettal hit the shelves.
