The Fall Of Troy includes band members, Thomas Erak (guitars, vocals, keyboards), Andrew Forsman (drums, percussion) and Tim Ward (bass, screamed vocals) and Drew Pelisek, formerly of CHON who has provided bass and vocals since 2017. The band has announced four new tour dates in December 2019 with shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York, Allston, Massachusetts and Los Angeles, California.
The trio is known for their technical and dynamic style, they released five full-length albums, two EPs, and one single. The group is commonly known for their post-hardcore, rock/progressive rock sound and energetic live performances. Thomas Erak’s alternating guitar riffs and rhythmic chord work, paired with odd time signatures set the band apart from other post-hardcore bands. They also include abrupt transitions between melody and dissonance, as well as interchanging clean vocals and screams which was often split between Erak and Ward, respectively. Its music has been described as “danceable”, however, and the band members have stated to pay as much attention to the groove as to complex structures. The Fall of Troy is usually categorized as mathcore, post-hardcore and screamo.
The main influences of The Fall of Troy who are from Mulkilteo, Washington were local bands from the Seattle area, including Botch, The Blood Brothers, Sunny Day Real Estate, Raft of Dead Monkeys and Unwed Sailor, in addition to the Texan post-hardcore act At the Drive-In. In 2010 the band disbanded, however, they reunited in 2013 and have been playing at shows since. Fellow supporting band Hail The Sun also have a similar yet unique rock sound. Their roster consists of Donovan Melero, Shane Gann, Aric Garcia, and John Stirrat. The band has also just recently released an album entitled Mental Knife, which was produced by Beau Burchell of American post-hardcore band Saosin.
