Holy Fuck Announce New Album Deleter For January 2020 Release and Share Video for Previously-Released Single “Luxe”

Canadian electronica band Holy Fuck have announced a new album entitled Deleter, which will be released by Holy EF Music on January 17, 2020. In addition to this album announcement, the band have also released a new music video for their song “Luxe,” which features Alexis Taylor of electronica band Hot Chip, who are on tour with the group.

The music video for this recent track features animated visuals, with a striking visual color pallet based around the three porimary colors, but complimented with darker tones. Various shapes and movements are shown in the video, giving it a psychedelic feel, that is heavily based around the visual senses and movements that match the backing track.

“For the video, Cynthia and Oscar were able to take this visual world of Deleter to the next dimension, creating a world that feels a lot like the one we lived in when we were in the studio making the record,” the band explained in a press release. “We love how they distort mundane, industrial, inanimate objects to create something emotional and organic… something so fundamentally human. In the process of bringing things to life, they make them either playful or dangerous. Everything ‘off-gases”.

The group described synaesthesia as a driving force behind the sonic elements of this latest record, meaning they want the audience to be able to “see,” the record as they listen.

“Synaesthesia is a big part of the creative process for us; deciding where to pan instruments, how to treat them in the mix, as well as the overall song writing process – you naturally connect it to the visual,” the band explained in a press releae.”It’s then out of our hands the moment we ask someone else to handle artwork and videos. But that’s the most interesting part…’seeing’ how someone else sees it.”

The band’s most recent album Congrats was released back in 2016. This project was complimented with a summer tour that followed up from the album release.
