Kate Tempest Live at Teragram Ballroom, Los Angeles

UK based spoken word performer Kate Tempest crossed half the world to play for her American fans at the Teragram Ballroom in LA. Jazz vocalist Tolliver opened with powerful singing range, his smooth voice reaching high notes perfectly. His voice alternated with saxophone solos which freed him to dance around the stage. It was definitely a commanding performance. When Tolliver finished the crowd pushed forward, right up to the stage in anticipation for Kate. Speaking with a few members in the audience proved how loyal her fan base is, one person saying she had seen Kate perform five times already, another saying she had flown to England to see Tempest perform in her home country. Kate’s lyrics and melody obviously struck a chord with the crowd, every so often people would cheer or clap when they believed in the message she was spreading through music. With a fan base this dedicated it’s clear Kate Tempest will continue her rise to prominence in this genre.
