American pianist and record producer Robert Glasper has announced a new mixtape entitled Fuck Yo Feelings, featuring Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), Herbie Hancock, YBN Cordae, Bilal, Buddy, Denzel Curry, Mick Jenicks, and Rapsody. This upcoming project will drop on Thursday, October 3rd and will be released on Loma Vista Recordings.
In addition to this album announcement, Glasper has released a mini-doc entitled Robert Glasper Presents-Fuck Yo Feelings, which was uploaded onto YouTube. This documentary was filmed at Henson Studios in Hollywood, and directed by Ryan Pawlak.
The documentary and mixtape were the result of a 2-day session in which Glasper invited musician friends to stop by the studio and create music together. This project is the final result of this session, which captured the improvisation and impromptu collaborations that took place.
Yasiin Bey appeared on Glasper’s Blue Note Jazz Club residency with Talib Kweli as Black Star.
