ComplexCon has just announced its 2019 lineup featuring Kid Cudi, Anderson. Paak and EarthGang, which is set to take place from November 2nd to November 3rd in Long Beach, California. Other artists included on the lineup are YBN Crew, Rico Nasty, and Trap Manny, who will join the headliners at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
ComplexCon hosts a variety of exhibitions from across pop culture, art, food, sports, innovation, activism, and education, in addition to music. The convention is hosted by Complex Magazine, which reports on trends in style, pop culture, music, sports and sneakers with a focus on streetwear, sneaker culture, hip hop, and graphic art.
Earlier this year Kid Cudi announced a new album titled Entergalactic, which will serve as the soundtrack to new animated Netflix show starring the rapper. Kids See Ghosts, a collaborative studio album, by the eponymouse duo featuring Kid Cudi and Kanye West, was released last year.
Anderson .Paak released an album entitled Ventura earlier this year as well via Interscope Records. The album served as a return to the neo soul style prominently featured on his first major release Malibu, with a more classical approach, featuring artists such as Smokey Robinson.
As mxdwn reviewer Henry Green explains:
“Ventura is a funky return to the glossy grooves that defined Paak’s music before Oxnard. While there are undoubtedly questionable moments production-wise as well as a fair share of dull and awkward moments vocally, Paak delivers yet another compelling, lively album that has undoubted appeal across multiple genres.”
