Sharon Van Etten has announced a new short film about herself, set to premiere on Amazon Music this Thursday, Sept. 26. The film was directed by Josh Goleman and focuses on a recording session during Van Etten’s last day living in New York City. According to Pitchfork, a performance of her Remind Me Tomorrow track “Seventeen,” is included in the film and is accompanied by Norah Jones. Check out the trailer below. Remind Me Tomorrow was released earlier this year and marked Van Etten’s first release of new music in five years. The album received much critical acclaim, including a high-fidelity ranking from mxdwn.
She was recently announced as a featured guest on Jeff Goldblum’s upcoming LP I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This, releasing Nov. 1. She joined Goldblum during his set at the Glastonbury this summer. After recently playing Lollapalooza and some shows with Bon Iver, she is set to play the new Wilco curated Sky Blue Sky festival early next year alongside Courtney Barnett, Kamasi Washington, Jeff Tweedy, and Dr. Dog. Wilco themselves will be performing three sets at the festival. The festival will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riveria Maya Mexico Jan. 18-22.
