Grammy-nominated hip hop recording artist, Top Dawg Entertainment/Interscope Records signee, ScHoolboy Q announced this past Monday the highly anticipated dates for The CrasH Tour 2019. ScHoolboy Q, born Quincy Matthew Hanley on October 26, 1986, is touching down across North American cities this fall. A guest appearance by Canadian-based recording hip hop artist NAV, signed to XO and Republic Records, is expected to join in on selected tour dates.
Ever since joining the illustrious ranks of Top Dawg Entertainment, amongst his closest musical cohorts Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul, Hanley reached critical and commercial success. Hanley’s early days with the aforementioned Carson, California-based independent label saw an impressive lyrical onslaught that laid down the musical foundation with his first two independently released studio albums, 2011’s Setbacks and 2012’s Habits & Contradictions, respectively. According to a Live Nation press release, it wasn’t until the release of Hanley’s major-label debut the “…platinum-certified breakthrough album Oxymoron: a 2014 release garnered a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album and landed three hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100. ScHoolboy Q’s sophomore album Blank Face LP scored a Best Rap Album nomination at the 2017 Grammy Awards, with lead single ‘THat Part’ (ft. Kanye West) nominated for Best Rap Performance.”
ScHoolboy Q released his fifth full-length studio album, CrasH Talk, on April 26, 2019, which, “…debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, marking the third consecutive ScHoolboy Q album to hit the top three on the chart. With appearances by artists like Kid Cudi, Ty Dolla $ign, and 21 Savage, CrasH Talk features the single ‘Numb Numb Juice’—hailed by Vulture as a ‘reminder why he’s one of the best rappers we’ve got.'”
