Former Chairlift vocalist, Caroline Polachek has shared another teaser of her upcoming solo record Pang. “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” gives us a taste of what Pang has in store in terms of imagery and sound. Pang is set to out on October 18 via Columbia Records. The official lyric audio-booklet for “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” has been posted on Polachek’s YouTube channel. Before the release of “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings,” the first album’s single “Door” was released in June. Two lead singles “Ocean of Tears,” and “Parachute” landed later in the following month. By listening to the four premiered tracks, it’s not hard to speculate that Pang is a synth pop-heavy work. Credited with production from Daniel Nigro, A. G. Cook and Jim-E Stack, the album tracks are executive-produced by Polachek herself and Danny L Harle.
In the new single “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings,” Polachek explicitly expresses a longing emotion after losing her partner. She describes, “…I’m counting the days, but it’s been twenty five, you’re out there killing the game, but damn I miss you tonight.” The singer’s vulnerability is shown as she sings “I get a little lonely, get a little more close to me, you’re the only one who knows me babe, so hot you’re hurting my feelings, can’t deal.” Polachek’s falsetto relocates from word to word, loading up the line “hurting my feelings.” With a perfect vocal delivery, the whole track is laced with danceable beats under an ’80s vintage atmosphere. “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” sounds wistful and melancholic and yet is presented as experimental club music.
In support of the new album, Polachek has announced a brief tour stopping by major cities in the U.S and Europe. The eight-stop tour embarks on October 24 at Zebulon in Los Angeles, CA, before wrapping up on February 1st at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The Zebulon venue and Hoxton Hall venue were officially sold out. Check out the tour dates and grab your tickets for the rest of the stops HERE.

UPDATE (10/02):
Caroline Polachek dropped a new music video for “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” today. Co-directed by Polachek’s long-time collaborator Matt Copson, the clip showcases the former Chairlift frontwoman’s dance moves. To express the hard feeling behind the song, Polachek elaborates her emotion through dancing. Performing against the pit backdrop, the singer stomps and kicks over the beats and melodies. The shapes of dance shift from Country line dancing to Scottish folk dance, which looks like a great solo act when we are in the solitude.
“So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” is the latest single from Polachek’s third studio album, Pang. Pang is out on October 18. Watch the updated video for “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” below.
