Since their recent releases, Ghost had performed their brand new songs “Kiss the Go-Goat” and “Mary on a Cross” at a recent show in Bakersfield, CA. Both songs were their live debuts and could potentially be placed in the setlist throughout their tour, which Bakersfield was the tour’s opening night. The tour will take place across North America and will include stops in Seattle, Vancouver, Minneapolis and a festival set at Exit 111 alongside Guns N’ Roses and Def Leppard. See the debut performances and full list of dates below.
“Kiss the Go-Goat” and “Mary on a Cross” are featured tracks on their upcoming 7″ “Seven Inches of Satanic Panic.” set to be released on September 27 via Loma Vista Recordings. It has also been reported that a deluxe edition of Prequelle, their fourth studio album, will release on the same day. The band also recently announced that they will be delaying their next album release to 2021 to avoid releasing new Ghost material to not coincide with the 2020 Presidential election. Frontman Tobias Forge spoke to Overdrive about the delay. “Unfortunately or fortunately, depends on how you see it, the US elections are happening, so bearing that in mind, it’s not the best time to release new material when people’s minds are focused on other things.” He continued to say “I just want to make sure that when we release this new album, we have people’s attention.”
A biopic film is also in the works. Forge stated earlier this year “Most films about bands are biographical, and I see no reason to tell our story yet. It’s a little bit like premature ejaculation,” Forge explains. “You have to have a career first and then you can tell the real story, so that was never an option. And when you yank away that, what do you have? Well, that would be a fictional story.”
