Halsey slams audiences with public notice of her third album releasing in 2020, and graces the world with one song off oncoming new album, MANIC. Halsey is a Grammy nominated artiest that has been lighting up the music scene since she was first heard just a few years ago. Her newest song Graveyard, was revealed on YouTube on September 12, 2019 and has already been seen by 1.5 million listeners worldwide. Halseys’ new song is encouraging audiences to look deeper into their personal relationships with others and theirselves.
Bringing ones coalescence down to lift others up is a common theme seen in many relationships now. This toxic element unknowingly falls into the category of people please, a habit that can in fact deadly at times. Halsey paints during her music video a portrait of herself with multicolored har and multicolored background. The piece is painted in a time lapse while the song plays. Seen Here.
It is clear that painting is another way the artist chooses to expresses herself. Panting a picture of who we are is a daily affair. Each day we rise and choose who we will be. She painted her portrait while on a live stream on social media. After the piece was finished she chose for the video to be pushed into being time lapsed for use of the Music Video for Graveyard. The expression of one’s reality into color by form of paint and color manipulation is breathtaking in this video. It is clear that Halsey continues to share her talents with her fans. Including her fanbase during the painting process was very inclusive as well as breathtaking.
The elements of the time-lapse of the painting was a flawless and simplistic way to realize a vision for album. The under mining element to be questioned during this video is, why is Halsey painting her own portrait? Is it because ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’, or because self love is important. The album cover is seen here.
The audience now knows it is the album cover for the new album, Manic, Halsey plans to release in 2020. The chorus of the song, “I keep digging myself down deeper, I won’t stop till I get where you are.”, then, “They say I may be makin’ a mistake, I would have followed all the way, no matter how far..I know when you go down all your darkest roads.. I woulda followed all the way to the graveyard.” This chorus is not only empowering to break away from people that are harmful, its catchy AF.
Sometimes letting go in turn saves us. The idea of letting go is hard. Halsey makes it clear that sometimes letting go can be the best thing for us.
