mxdwn PREMIERE: KYVA Release Spacey New Alt-Pop Song “Wide World”

One of the newest additions to the seminal indie label Frenchkiss Records is Australian singer-songwriter KYVA. Today, we’re premiering the latest song from the artist, a gorgeously-arranged, upbeat psychedelic pop song called “Wide World.”

KYVA’s vocals and instrumentation reverberate throughout the composition. His singing features a husky-yet-androgynous sound that is perfectly complemented by the shimmering guitars and simple electronic beat.

I’ve been trying to connect with what the project means to me, what it is at it’s core and where it might sit in the world,” said KYVA. “I keep coming back to one recurring theme: a search for home and belonging. KYVA represents occupying a space between two worlds. The pull and push of that experience. It’s pronounced (K-eye-Vah). …everyone once had to be told how to pronounce ‘Sade’.”
