Future Thieves is an alternative rock trio consisting of Elliot Collett, Austin McCool and Nick Goss, formed in 2013. Their sounds blends pop sensibilities with danceable rhythms and driving rock ‘n roll guitars. Today we’re pleased to premiere the band’s latest single, an introspective and gorgeously-arranged song called “My Body.”
“‘My Body’ was the first thing we wrote when we started working on the new record,” said Collett. “It came to us easily and wrote itself. It started with a part on this old electric church organ we acquired from a sweet lady for free. After that, everything took off and we had a pretty good demo. We sat on it for a couple of months before recording it all ourselves at my home studio. The sounds encompass the feel of the rest of the project very well. It’s a song about someone who isn’t comfortable in their own skin and is crying out in hopes that they aren’t alone in this.”
Collett is the band’s lead singer and guitarist, Goss plays bass and McCool plays guitar. They self-released their first album Horizon Line in 2015 and have released a self-titled project, two live albums, and three singles this year. Next up for the band is a 6-song EP that will be released in the next few months.
Future Thieves has a substantial North American tour underway, with shows running from September through early November. They’ll be playing everywhere from midwestern cities like Columbus, OH and Chicago, IL to the eastern seaboard with shows in New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC. The trio will swing through the south on their way to the west coast, where they’ll be performing in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and other major cities.
