Slipknot is having one of the hottest years a band can have, the band’s Album We Are Not Your Kind debuting at number 1 atop the Billboard 200, touring in their own festival The Knotfest Roadshow, and having tour dates scheduled all the way out until February of 2021, and yet Corey Taylor and the band Slipknot just can’t get out of the media spotlight. Its no secret that a heavy metal band like Slipknot can be pretty vulgar sometimes, especially when talking about politics, which Slipknot lead Singer Corey Taylor has not been shy to do. Throughout the whole 2019 year, Taylor has spoken about his political views and his stance on gun control and the current president Donald Trump. It’s well-known fact that Corey Taylor is not a fan of Donald Trump, he has not been shy to say how he really feels about the current incumbent in office. In fact, in his most recent interview with The Fader, Taylor goes after Trump and his supporters, calling them all “F**king Morons.”

The interview was very colorfully worded as Taylor talked about his frustrations with the president stemming from more than just a personal vendetta. Stating that, “They’ve done more to set us back even further globally than anything I’ve ever seen in my f**king lifetime. And that’s coming from somebody who wrote a whole f**king song about George W. Bush.” Even trying to tie a little comedic relief to the question to express his frustrations, Taylor was avid about the fact that the people who voted for him have helped revert the status quo back to a “precipice of an upheaval that we haven’t seen since f**king ’68.” In an interview with Larry King back in 2017, when the singer was asked about his thoughts on President Donald Trump he said, “I want to give him a chance, but he keeps shooting himself in the foot.” This time around when asked about Donald Trump all he could say was, “What insults me the most. You can paint him as racist, or egotistical, or a tyrant, or all of this shit: He’s a moron, and the people who f**king voted for him? F**king morons, too!”

According to Taylor, his biggest concerns are his children and many fans: people of color, people from different countries, people who speak different languages, he is concerned for their well being in today’s environment as he states “I don’t want my f**king fans getting killed. I don’t want my kids getting killed.” Who knows how many Trump supporters bought the new Slipknot album, but regardless of political views or not, Slipknot will stay a prominent figure in the media for the next couple of years without a doubt.
