Kanye West Hosts Sunday Service in Dayton, Ohio in Support of Victims and Survivors of August Mass Shooting

Multi-hyphenate Kanye West has reentered the public eye once again. According to Pitchfork, this time, he is bringing his Calabasas, California-based Sunday Service live performance series to Dayton, Ohio in support of the victims and survivors of the mass shooting earlier this month.

Comedian Dave Chapelle introduced the performance and held a benefit concert and block party in Dayton later on the same day. Kanye West’s wife and influential media personality Kim Kardashian stated through a tweet that the performance is, “in support of the victims and survivors of the Dayton mass shooting.” The Dayton performance was live-streamed on West’s Sunday Service website.

While West has kept the Sunday Service performance extremely exclusive and secluded at his current residence in Calabasas, he did bring the elusive series to the masses at Coachella this past spring. The star-studded concert was one to remember, with appearances by Chance the Rapper, Kid Cudi, and DMX, new music and covers of few gospel classics. Watch the full performance on the Sunday Service website and excerpts from the performance below:

Matthew Jordan: I grew up in Massachusetts, but I am currently a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I picked up my first musical instrument (viola) in the 3rd grade, and have been a fan of everything the medium has to offer ever since. Some of my favorite artists right now include Matt Maltese, Idles, MIKE, Benny the Butcher, Standing on the Corner, Built to Spill, and Frank Ocean. I also love following the charts and the music business to see what is connecting with listeners and why.
