The long-awaited announcement for a new The Devil Wears Prada album is here. The band has officially announced its new 12 track LP, The Act, which is set to be its first release through Solid State Records. This comes after a long 3-year spell that left The Devil Wears Prada fans yearning for more music. Just a day before the band officially announced the album, it released a cryptic teaser video which showed someone painting what many fans speculated was the album’s cover art, and they were right. Along with the album announcement, the band also dropped a link for fans to pre-order the 12-track LP as well as get some fresh new merch to coincide with their excitement.
But what would an album announcement be without new music? That’s right; the band has also released new music for fans to get a taste of what the record will be like. “Lines of Your Hands” is the second song on the tracklist for the upcoming album. The song starts with that familiar bouncing metalcore-sounding drum pattern, which is accented by a beautifully placed ascending to descending guitar. The simplicity in the verses allows for a steady build-up before the song explodes into a full-sounding and well-rounded chorus. The call-and-response technique used in the third verse shows the band’s creativity and musical understanding.
The band has remained busy working on crafting a better sounding version of itself, and after three years the members are finally excited to share it with the world. The Act is set to release on October 11th and is everything that The Devil Wears Prada fans have been waiting for. The tracklist and the official album cover are below.
