British electronic outfit The Prodigy are moving forward, and are officially in the studio recording their first pieces of music since the untimely death of their frontman Keith Flint earlier this year. The band announced their studio recording sessions yesterday on social media, where they wrote “Back in the studio making noise.”
This status was followed with another caption stating “Brand new Prodigy tunes are gonna roll , boooom,” indicating that the surviving members, Liam Howlett and Maxim will continue making music as The Prodigy. This will mark the group’s first album since their 2018 album No Tourists, which was released prior to Flint’s passing this past March.
Flint was found dead in his UK home during March of last year, when reports originally surfaced that the singer had committed suicide. Despite these initial reports, coroners have not been able to prove that the death was suicide, as the high amount of alcohol, cocaine, and codeine in his body may have caused an accidental overdose.
“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed,” the band wrote in a social media post after the announcement.”We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”
