New rising metal quartet Khemmis is planning its Winter 2019 West Coast Desolation MMXIX Tour. The headlining tour is a brief trek with support from Seattle-based doom rising stars UN.
Established in 2012, Khemmis was formed by school pals Ben Hutcherson (guitar/vocals) and Phil Pendergast (guitar/vocals). Daniel Beiers (bass) and Zach Coleman (drums) joined the crew a bit later. The band debuted a three-track self-titled EP in 2013, which not only introduced the group but also garnished favorable attention from metal fans at the same time. Their sophomore album Hunted in 2016 earned positive praise from authoritative sites, as it was number 11 in Rolling Stone’s “20 Best Albums of 2016” and Decibel Magazine’s “Album of the Year.” Last year, the band’s new album Desolation was released, followed by an international tour. Their third studio album established the outfit as heavy metal heavyweights and demonstrated their talents and brighter future ahead.
At the beginning of this year, the doom heavy metal band signed to Nuclear Blast. Touring nationally, Khemmis is fresh off 16-stop-tour with the metal band Cloak, the North American Desolation 2019 Tour this past July was a success. One of their stops was at the metal music festival Clairvoyance, alongside with Primitive Man, Young Widows, Wrekmeister Harmonies and more. It sure doesn’t seem the band is holding back, so expect a busier 2020. The Winter 2019 West Coast Desolation MMXIX tour kicks off at Soundwell in Salt Lake City, UT on December 6, stopping by major cities such as Seattle, Portland, Oakland, Los Angeles and more, before wrapping up at the Blue Bird Theater in Denver, CO on December 14.
