Juicy J Announces Fall 2019 Three 6 Mafia Reunion Shows

Juicy J and DJ Paul recently surprised fans with an announcement of Three 6 Mafia reunion shows. Juicy J, Gangsta Boo and DJ Paul are plotting a big hometown concert featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DMX, Pitchfork reports. The reunion shows will comprise three performances, including ONE MusicFest in Atlanta on Sep 7 and the Loud Records 25th Anniversary concert in Newark on October 11. Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DMX will join the gigs on October 12 at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.

Memphis hip-hop icon Juicy J started his career as co-founder of the horror-themed underground rap group Three 6 Mafia, along with DJ Paul and Lord Infamous, rappers Crunchy Black, Gangsta Boo and Koopsta Knicca. As one of the big players in the late ‘90s, Mafia contributed what are now hip-hop classics and cemented its distinctively dank sound. Three 6 Mafia may have been out of the limelight for years, but they return at last looking for one last hurrah.  Juicy J departed in 2009, and two founding members have died: Lord Infamous passed in 2013 and Koopsta Knicca in 2015. The reunion show will surely bring joy and high excitement to hip-hop fans everywhere.

“This year has already been a banner year for new music and production from both of us,” DJ Paul states this in the announcement, “I know this is what the fans have been asking for, so we’re ready to bring them the classics, along with our new music in the best possible way. To quote LL, don’t call it a comeback, we have officially been here for years, and we’ve got a lot to show for it. Just wait to see what comes next.”

As a decorated rapper, singer and record producer, Juicy J has penned massive hits for lots of artists in the last decade. However, recently, Juicy J was involved in a copyright infringement, which found the writers of Katy Perry’s 2013 hit “Dark Horse” guilty. Judged by California jury, the song featuring Juicy J copied a part of Christian hip-hop musician Flame’s song “Joyful Noise.” Juicy J’s last album was 2017’s Rubba Band Business
