After nearly one month in a Swedish jail, A$AP Rocky returned to the stage without making fans wait. The hip-hop artist recently made a rock-fueled appearance at the Lowlands Festival, an alternative arts festival in the Netherlands. According to Consequence of Sound, in support of his 2018 LP, Testing, Rocky performed a solo set. The rapper later joined Australian psych-rock group Tame Impala’s set for “Sundress” and “LSD.”
This is not the first collaboration between Tame Impala and Rocky. Earlier this April, A$AP Rocky joined Tame Impala on the 2019 Coachella Stage, as a special guest, where they also performed the same two songs. “LSD” is a song from Rocky’s 2015 album, the song is full of trippy and colorful sounds. “Sundress,” released as a single in 2018, heavily samples Tame Impala’s “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?.” It’s not hard to see why the two would collaborate during the festival, both have a soft spot for psychedelic rock performances. Check out their footage video below.
The first comeback gig of A$AP Rocky took place at the Real Street Festival in Anaheim, CA last week. The hip-hop artist brought out his close friend Tyler, The Creator in his first performance since his release from a Stockholm Jail. An update on the case let the masses know that A$AP Rocky was found guilty of assault in Sweden after being charged over a month ago. The rapper and his crew, fortunately for them, avoided the 6 months to 2 years in jail.
October 12-13, A$AP Rocky will headline alongside with Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, The Wu-Tang Clan, Meek Mill and Playboi Carti in the inaugural Rolling Loud New York, scheduled to take place at the Citi Field in Queens.
