Tool has released their first new song in over 13 years, “Fear Inoculum.” The 10-minute and 22-second track will be featured on the band’s new album under the same name, which is set to be released August 30. Filled with rhythmic percussion, guitar chords, and Maynard James Keenan’s vocals, it definitely lives up to the expectations of their long-awaited return. Within the song, it seems as though it is directed to “The Deceiver,” who has brought nothing but hatred to the person’s life. The speaker stands up to them, delivering a prayer/ritual to exhale them from their lives as if the deceiver were a demon. Listen to the new track below.
The new album is set to be 85-minutes long and will have a special deluxe physical edition that fans will be able to purchase. The collectible edition features a 4” HD rechargeable screen with exclusive video footage, charging cable, 2 watt speaker, a 36-page booklet and a digital download card. Pre-orders for both the special package and digital downloads are available on the band’s website. A vinyl release will be announced at a later date.
Tool recently released their full back catalog of music on streaming services, with many of their albums topping the iTunes Album Charts.
