Unfortunately, indie singer and guitarist Julien Baker just cancelled her upcoming tour dates due to complications from “ongoing medical issues.” The artist was set to perform at a number of European festivals including Way Out West in Sweden, Øya in Norway, and the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany. The three festivals released a statement about Baker’s cancellations saying, “…due to ongoing medical issues, Julien Baker will be cancelling all currently planned live shows.”
Baker has cancelled a number of dates in the last year. In February she cancelled the final dates of her Australian tour including performances in Japan and New Zealand due to “unforeseen personal matters.” Additionally, Baker had to call off a performance with her bandmate from boygenius Lucy Dacus at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas on July 31st. Baker stated that she had to deal with “unforeseen medical circumstances.”
Julien Baker broke into the music industry with her EP turned studio album Sprained Ankle, a brilliant example of contemporary folk music that shows off her vocal ability. Baker went on to release her second studio album Turn Out the Lights in 2017 and a live album AudioTree Live in 2016. In 2018, Baker put together the indie rock supergroup boygenius and released their self titled EP later on in the same year.
