LPX just released a new single “Global Warming” which is a synth, pop song that is upbeat and harmonic. The track starts out with an electronic beat while Lizzy Plapinger aka LPX breaks in with short, tight verses. Her vocals take shape in various rhythms as the track moves like a roller coaster against her peppy yet emotional voice. She powerfully drives her message with lyrics, “Summer’s getting longer every day. I can’t ignore it. Like California I’m getting warmer. Like Global Warming, I’m getting warmer.”
In a statement, the song is described as a ‘true modern underdog power anthem’ dedicated for those who choose not to give up on themselves, and the ones that need reminding. LPX is heading out on tour this fall, supporting Marina (and the Diamonds) in September and X Ambassadors in October.
She released “Give Up The Ghost”, “Might Not Make It Home” and “Falling to Fall” from her latest EP Junk of the Heart Plapinger describes as a “modern new wave that’s both self deprecating and forgiving while reflecting on the masochistic routine and addiction to looking for, finding and falling in and out of love”.
Her debut Bolt in the Blue EP was mixed by both Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Arctic Monkeys) and John O’Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem, Metric, Kills) with executive producer, James Flannigan (MØ, Matt Maeson). Her singles “Slide” and “Better” (a collaboration with Australia’s WHAT SO NOT) and “Might Not Make It Home,” was produced by GRAMMY Award winning Tommy English (Kacey Musgraves, Børns, K Flay), have all gone #1 on Triple J radio in Australia.
LPX launched into 2019 as main support on MØ’s North American tour and performed as support for Haim and RAC across North America on separate tours. She has also performed at NGX in New York, Fall Classic in Washington, DC (an all female festival she also co-curated with Maggie Rogers) and Falls Festival in Australia along with Interpol, The Vaccines, Catfish and the Bottlemen etc.
