Rock fans rejoice! According to Pitchfork, Tool has announced the title of the new long-awaited album as Fear Inoculum. Fear Inoculum is due out on August 30. The forthcoming album will be Tool’s first new release since 2006’s 10,000 Days.
The news of the new album started last year, which reported the band was in the studio and working on their new music after long break. Produced by Joe Barresi and mastered by Bob Ludwig, who previously worked on “10,000 Days,” Fear Inoculum is Tool’s fifth album. This highly anticipated album also reportedly featured every song about 10 minutes long or more.
After a 13-year hiatus from releasing albums, the band not only return with a new LP but also reveal plans to release their music on streaming service for the first time, including the new album and their older music catalog. The older albums will be available on all digital and streaming service will be available on August 2.
Before the streaming announcement, the band has released their 1991 demo 72826 on streaming service as teaser. Fans previously tweeted and complained Tool’s music is not accessible. The change in the new streaming platform would be a good response.
Tool closed out summer 2019 United States tour earlier this month. The band played new music, including two new songs “Descending” and “Invincible.” Their next gig will take place at Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA on October 13.
