Tom Morello claims to have heard the new music, which apparently Tool began recording in March. Part of the issue is that Maynard doesn’t do vocals until the music is ready, a point he has repeatedly made on social media when fans ask about a new Tool album.

Keenan has been busy with the latest A Perfect Circle album and tour, as well as working with Puscifer over the last few years. The idea of a new album from Tool seems closer than ever but simultaneously a distant dream.
