DIIV Announce New Album Deceiver For October 2019 Release And Drop Visceral New Single “Skin Game”

DIIV has announced a brand new album for release later this year. The album is titled Deceiver and will be released via Captured Tracks. This will be the third full length record for the New York based rock band, following their last album in 2016. While DIIV had previously mentioned releasing an album this year, the group made the official announcement this morning, releasing the first single from the project as well. The new song is a track titled “Skin Game,” and was put onto streaming services today. The full Deceiver album is set to be released on October 4th, a little over two months away.

DIIV blasted onto the rock scene with their debut album Oshin in 2012, with the most popular track from the project being the song “Doused.” From there the band focused on refining their sound and growing as musicians. This all paid off when they released their sophomore album, 2016’s Is The Is Are, to critical acclaim. The project saw success due to the popularity of a few of its tracks, namely “Out of Mind” and “Under the Sun.” Now the band is ready to build on their success with Deceiver.

The “Skin Game” single shows the group taking their music to new heights, expanding their range like never before. This is due in part to the fact that Deceiver is the first project in which DIIV had help from an outside producer. Sonny Diperri, who is well known for his work with other rock bands, helped with the production of the album and added a new layer to the band’s sound. With the time the band has taken in between their last project, and the help from outside musicians, Deceiver could very well be the group’s best project so far. DIIV also plans on touring in support of the project, with those shows beginning on October 11th. The full tracklist and cover art for Deceiver can be found below.
