Friendship Music Cruise has announced the lineup for its 2020 voyage, the second edition of the festival that was launched last year. The festival is largely electronic-focused, with some pop and hip-hop thrown in for good measure. Notable performers include Bob Moses, Boys Noize, Dita Von Teese, Ty Dolla $ign, Griz and Mija. The festival takes place from January 6 through January 10 aboard a Royal Caribbean “Navigator of the Seas.” The festival has also released a teaser video that shows off enticing scenes of tropical islands and the massive ocean liner.
Last year’s inaugural lineup included 2manyDJs, Rüfüs Du Sol, Claptone and Dixon. Boys Noize returns to the festival after performing last year. Also returning is Dita Von Teese, who will once again perform her burlesque show. In addition to music and the burlesque show, there will also be comedy and magic shows at the festival. They will also host their popular Dial-a-DJ which allows attendees dial a special number to have a DJ delivered to their room for a private set. The ship, which has undergone million dollar renovations, will dock at private eco-certified island CocoCay, which is home to multiple beaches, pools, zip-lines, floating bars and bungalows.
Mija has been releasing music recently one song at a time. Last week she released the song “Sweat It Out,” which draws from deep house. Before that, she released “Stay a Little Longer” featuring JR Slayer, aka Cody Votolato of The Blood Brothers and Head Wound City. In February she released a 24-minute edit of her song “Notice Me.” Before that she released the original version of “Notice Me.”
Bob Moses has been active playing shows and festivals during the last year. At Coachella this year, they paid tribute to the late Keith Flint with a cover of their biggest hit, “Breathe.” Since then, they’ve been playing shows with Phantogram on their summer 2019 tour.
