The highly successful old Western free roam video game Red Dead Redemption 2 has announced that it will be releasing its original score called The Music Of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Score. The video game series has made a lasting impact on the gaming community and so far only three singles have been released from the score on Spotify.
The full album will drop August 9 this year under Lakeshore Records and includes songs from its primary contributing composer Woody Jackson along with musicians such as Arca, Colin Stetson, David Ferguson, Gabe Witcher and many more. Only three singles have been released from the album which are titled “Country Pursuits,” “Outlaws From the West” and “Fleeting Joy.”
In a press release, Woody Jackson said “Writing the score for “Red Dead Redemption 2” was an incredibly ambitious project and I couldn’t be prouder of the results. We were creating a living soundscape for a wildly diverse cross section of 19th century America. After all these years working with so many talented people, I can’t wait to share these songs beyond the world of the game.”
Jackson performed at Red Bull’s annual music festival in Los Angeles this year where he conducted an orchestra of musicians and singers featured on the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack.
Earlier this month, Rock Star and Lakeshore Records teamed up to release the soundtrack to Red Dead Redemption 2, which was produced by Candian record producer Daniel Lanois and included songs featuring Willie Nelson and D’Angelo.
Lanois has been noted for successfully producing various artists and soundtracks. He has also been noted for having an extravagant Hollywood home. He also performed at The Game Awards 2018 with Rhiannon Giddens while showcasing songs from Red Dead Redemption 2.
