High On Fire Announces Fall 2019 Tour Dates Featuring Power Trip

Metal band High On Fire has announced their 2019 fall tour dates which will feature Power Trip. High On Fire had previously canceled their North American tour twice, once in November 2018 and again January 2019, when guitarist, Matt Pike, had to undergo multiple surgeries due to amputate his toe due to complications with diabetes.

The band has come back for the third time to embark on a North American tour to celebrate their latest 2018 album, Electric Messiah.

Critics, fans and the band members themselves claim the album to be one of their best albums. In an interview with Metal Underground, Matt Pike expressed his opinion about the new album. “I think by far it’s the most progressive. This one really came out with a twist. I thoroughly love this record. It really is our best album. As far as our intellectual and soulful sides and we’ve all gotten better at our instruments” Pike said.

The album also won Grammy for Best Metal Performance, making the band rise up to the echelon of metal legends such as Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Metallica.

Due to the Electric Messiah’s success, fans are even more excited to see the band perform around North America.  Starting in Austin at the Levitation Festival and wrapping up in Los Angeles at The Regent. Bands such as Devil Master and Creeping Death will be joining the tour as the metal groups travel across the country.

Tickets for the tour will be going on sale Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. Both High On Fire and Power Trip will also be performing at Psycho Las Vegas this year in August.

Alex Myers: I'm an Okie living in L.A. writing about music and other things that I'm passionate about. I was raised by musicians and I grew up playing bass guitar, piano and cello. You can always find me with my headphones on or glued to my phone reading the latest music news. My passion for music lead me to attend college at Loyola Marymount University in L.A. with the dreams of making a living in the music industry. After interning for two record labels I was certain that working in the music industry was not for me. However, when I started writing for my college's newspaper, I figured out that I was a talented writer and I subsequently changed my career path. Now I'm combining my two passions and aspiring to become a music writer.
