Heavy metal band Lamb of God has announced the departure of drummer and founding member Chris Adler. According to an article from The PRP, Adler hasn’t played with Lamb of God since last July due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. The band has stated that his replacement will be Art Cruz, who has previously been involved as a drummer with death core band Winds of Plague. Cruz had been filling in for Adler since his hiatus from the band began after the accident.
Chris Adler will remain involved in the music industry through his management company Kintsugi Management and the jam band Hail! Rockstar Extravaganza. Hail! Rockstar Extravaganza’s fall tour will be Adler’s return to the stage after over a year.

Lamb of God’s statement of Chris Adler’s Departure:
“Dear Lamb of God fans,
We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record.
We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.
We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Thank you,
John, Mark, Randy & Willie“
Despite Adler’s absence from Lamb of God, the band has been very active over the past year. They have performed at the Sonic Temple Festival and Domination Music Festival, and toured with Slayer. In April, they announced that they were “well into” the writing process for their upcoming tenth studio album. They also released a special 15th anniversary edition of their fourth album, Ashes of the Wake, in May.
